The dark shadows in me
go away when I see your face.
You turn on the light.
You make my days bright.
We swayed to a song
with melodies and tunes
from our heart.
We then fell apart.
Each singing a different song
with broken guitar strings
and notes that were off.
Two years of a sad chorus
Two years of lyrics of loneliness.
Two souls like stars
that turn off in the distant sky.
I then realized
that our song kept playing.
That song that once told us
we belong.
I reached out to knock
the doors of your heart.
You let me in
and said with a grin:
“Let’s continue singing
this song called love.”
